July Trail Updates at the ICV

Now after the Timbering…

Trail 61

After the timbering on our landowner’s property, and also the neighboring property that’s currently timbering, trail 61 has seen some expansion due to the heavy equipment. Due to that, you’ll notice some stumps that were not on the original trail. Be careful when deviating from the original designed path.

Woods

You’ll also see what appears to be new entrances to the wooded area off of trail 61, they are NOT a trail BUT we will work to make a new short path safely cleared in the future.

7 Acres Singletrack

Adam and Freddy are working hard on remediating the “7 acres” singletrack off of trail 61. There will be new log obstacles! It is not yet reopened. Stay tuned.

Extreme Quad Trails

Jeff Fitch has been working hard on making the extreme trails more accessible/less risk adverse for ATVs.

The grouse singletrack that go over these small dragonbacks should be aware of some landscape changes, but ST line hasn’t changed.

Rock Crushing

In addition to the annual trail grooming, the club went a step further with some rock drilling action. You’ll be able to ride your SxS readily on the black trails, like trail 12, 19, and 20 without concern of getting stuck.

While this decision is controversial, the trails are still fun and offer a new set of challenges that won’t risk significantly damaging your vehicle. The club hopes this will encourage more people to explore the black trails. If you want to see more difficult quad trails, please consider participating in the club to make it happen! :)

While the less giant rocks makes the trail more approachable on 4 wheels, the holes left behind present a trickier obstacle for dirtbikes.

SINGLETRACK

Maintenance

After the rainy weeks, the conditions of the singletrack haven’t had a chance to dry out and recover, leaving more erosion in places than we have seen in the past.

We are taking efforts to mitigate some of the erosion and rework spots on the singletrack. DON’T CREATE HOT LINES OR WORKAROUND LINES.

Completion of Holler Hill

With team effort from volunteer members (Adam, Rory, Lydia, Kelly Brown, Loren, Jeff) the singletrack for Holler Hill is complete. It has some fun off-camber sections and plenty of rocks. It is intermediate-difficult depending on direction and conditions.

Extreme Enduro ST Extended and Lugger Hill added

Adam has expanded the extreme enduro trail and added in an optional hard-enduro off-shoot called lugger hill. (At the start of Jockey Knob road)
